The Aragon Technology Centre (http://www.ita.es) is a public Technology Center, established in 1984 and currently consists of over 210 people whose mission is to contribute to the promotion and execution of the research and the development, in accordance with the criteria of the general interest, orientating its activity to stimulate the technological innovation of the companies. ITA main functions are:
- To offer services of research and technological development to the companies, both in the development of new products, services or processes and in the introduction of advanced technologies, promoting the maintenance and improvement of their competitiveness.
- To offer technological advice and technical services that guarantee the quality and productivity of the companies.
- To identify and to attend to the needs of innovation of the current and emergent sectors, with special orientation to the small and medium companies (SMEs).
ITA has created eLogistica, the Spanish Center of knowledge in the application of Information and Communication Technologies to the resolution of problems in the field of integral logistics. With this center, nationally recognized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in Plan Avanza funding scheme, ITA generates and promotes a better understanding on the direct impact of ICT in logistics (supply chain, warehousing, transportation, mobility and distribution) both as scientific and technological solutions applicable in the real world. The center aims to become as a driver of ICT uptake in firms logistics processes, as fundamental way to build a new logistics in the information management and collaboration between different actors in the supply chain more effective and efficient, more environmentally friendly and can generate new processes and services with high added value.
